VHDA Mortgages !

SAFCU 1st Time Home Buyer Program

The SAFCU 1st Time Home Buyer Program can provide up to $10,000 in closing cost/ down payment assistance to qualified individuals that finance their first home purchase with SAFCU.  To be eligible, members must agree to reside in their home for at least five years and attend home ownership counseling classes.

GRACE LOAN PROGRAM

The SAFCU "Grace" Loan is a short term loan for up to $750 for up to 3 months at 8.0% regardless of credit rating.  This loan is intended to help SAFCU members  take care of short term emergencies and pay off high rate predatory loans.   Members are required to attend credit and budget counseling sessions with SAFCU staff as a condition for approval. SAFCU Makeover Program

On November 3, 2006, SAFCU conducted its third home makeover.  The makeover was for Renee Clark and was made possible by funds and services provided by Boeing Employees Credit Union, BPN Properties and Windows Direct.  The makeover included installation of new windows, an upgraded kitchen with new appliances as well as roof and floor joist repairs.  Special thanks to the Alexandria Redevelopment Housing Authority, City of Alexandria Department of Housing for their continued support.

Scholarship Program

For 2007, SAFCU will award two $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors.  The scholarships will be awarded on a competitive basis.  Click Here for details
